June Beauty Heroes Discovery: Honua Skincare

“It’s the little things that add up to less” – Jeannie Jarnot, founder of Beauty Heroes

June’s Beauty Heroes Discovery box highlighted a beautiful Hawaiian brand: Honua Skincare.

Beauty Heroes June Discovery Box - Honua Skincare

Honua Skincare - Malu Protecting Day Cream SPF30

The Hero was their MALU Protecting Day Cream SPF30 ☀️.
It’s a lightweight, moisturizing sunscreen that is also reef-safe! It contains traditional Hawaiian ingredients like hydrating aloe, detoxifying laukahi and repairing noni. I love the silky finish (no white cast!) and it smells like jasmine flowers in a Summer night.
MALU means shade, shelter, protection and peace, and that is exactly what it feels like… It has earned its place among my top mineral sunscreens.

The Sidekick: the MOANA Mask by Honua 🌿.
It’s packed with good ingredients like spirulina, hawaiian honey, kaolin, bentonite and green clay to promote balance and detoxification. But also, laukahi, sandalwood and neroli to deeply hydrate and replenish.
The texture feels amazingly fresh on the skin and almost transparent (can you see it on my face?). The smell is grounding and revitalizing at once. I love using it in the morning .

June’s bonus: Beauty Heroes’ reusable glass straw ♻️.
In addition to these two beauty products, Beauty Heroes added a bonus in this box: a reusable glass straw.
Plastic straws have hurt our planet and marine life so much… We’ve all seen that heart wrenching video of the turtle (viewers discretion advised). Thankfully, awareness is growing and more and more cities are starting to ban single-use straws altogether, which is awesome. In case it’s not on the agenda where you live: REFUSE plastic straws and, if you like sipping away, just throw one of these reusable straws in your purse (this one is glass, you also have bamboo and stainless steel options).

Remember: little things add up. Use less, love more!

Aloha 🌺
